Meet Some of Our Members
Here is a list of some of our members who have chosen to make their profiles public.
Club Executive Committee
Club Executives
As a volunteer, not for profit organisation, Toastmasters requires the skills of its members to function as a cohesive, successful club. We ask the members in the club to become the Club Executives who manage all the functions associated with a social group.
Each year, the members democratically elect the Club Executive Committee members who take on the responsibilities of the club for the following year.
For more information, please refer to the Club Leadership Handbook which is located in the Member Downloads section of this website. Central Division supply Club Officer training twice a year. The roles are briefly described as follows:
President
- Manages the Club Success Plan with the Executive Commitee members
- Helps create the year's Budget Plan which is vetted by the Executive Committee members
- Chairs the club, business and executive committee meetings
- Responsible for organising 4 x club officers to attend club officer training every 6 months as part of the Distinguished Club Program (DCP)
- Provides vision and direction for the club
Vice President Education (VPE)
- Manages the educational needs and goals of all club members
- Sets the Agenda for every meeting
- Helps achieve the Awards required for the Distinguished Club Program (DCP)
- Organises the annual Club Contests
Vice President Membership (VPM)
- Welcomes guests to the club
- Inducts new members into the club
- Contributes to the Club Success Plan with strategies to enlist new members
- Works with Vice President Public Relations to source new members (4 + 4 for the DCP program)
Vice President Public Relations (VPPR)
- Responsible for all public relationships within and without the club
- Creates flyers for club promotions (including Club Contests)
- Usually manages the Club Facebook page and website
- Contributes to the Central Division newsletter with club news
- Promotes club members' successes relating to personal, professional and community activities/involvement
Treasurer
- The Treasurer manages the club’s financial health
- The primary responsibilities of this role involve handling the club’s finances and the payment of all bills
Manages the Club Budget (set by the Club Executive Committee) - Manages the Club Membership Dues every 6 months (submits on time to achieve the DCP program goals)
Secretary
- The Secretary manages all record-keeping and correspondence
- The Secretary maintains the club’s records, including club by-laws and the club constitution
- Maintain new member applications, updated membership records, supply orders, officer lists, and past club records
- The Secretary also records and reads the minutes for club meetings and for meetings of the Executive Team
Sergeant at Arms (SAA)
- The Sergeant at Arms (SAA) manages the club’s meeting facilities
- The SAA arranges the room and sets up for all meetings
- Organises the club’s materials, equipment and supplies
Immediate Past President (IPP)
- Guides and supports the Executive Team
- Serves as a resource for new officers and ensuring continuity with past terms
- The Immediate Past President helps, but does not direct in any way
